Matariki: Exploring Our Stories

Matariki: Exploring Our Stories is a literary event t♦o celebrate the start of Matariki.

Stellar writers Ben Brown, Robert Sullivan and Reina Whaitiri join Carol Hirschfeld to talk about what Matariki means to them, and the role of oratory and story-telling in Maori culture.

This event will be set against a backdrop of Matariki art at The Depot Artspaces in Devonport, featuring works by four Maori artists – Bethany Edmunds, Chanel Breen, Jenny Papa, Orewa Kingi – weave new ideas into contemporary and traditional styles.

This free event is supported by the Auckland Council's Creative Communities Scheme.
