Talking of Katherine Mansfield, with Catherine Downes

06 April 2013 - 7.30 pm

Acclaimed actress Catherine Downes tours New Zealand with her latest work Talking of Katherine Mansfield.

TALKING OF KATHERINE MANSFIELD is an intimate audience experience. A thoroughly engaging solo show in which Downes explores Katherine Mansfield`s search for personal growth in her short life, and her writing, illness and death, and then takes the audience on her life journey. The performance includes highlights of Downes' internationally lauded play The Case of Katherine Mansfield and Mansfield's short stories, including The Doll's House.

"It's fine tribute to the power of the acting, the choice of material and the quality of the writing that I would have been happy to stay on in the theatre and see it all over again," said reviewer Julianne Evans of The Gulf News.

This performance is on for two nights only, April 6 and 7, 7.30 pm, at The Vic Theatre in Devonport. The production is brought to Auckland by Arts on Tour NZ, with the support of Creative NZ, The Lion Foundation and the Interislander.

Tickets are $30 ($25 for students and community card holders). Bookings can be made at The Vic Theatre.
