Powhiri for Judith Bryers Holloway

20 June 2013 - From 7 pm
Nau mai, haere mai
Come, and welcome

Join the Devonport Library Associates to assist Ngati Whatua in honouring and welcoming this year’s
Michael King Writer's Centre Māori writer in residence.

She is Judith Bryers Holloway (Ngapuhi, Norwegian, French, Irish-English). As a mother of
four, a grandmother of eight, and a great-grandmother of eight, it is unsurprising that her
creative and varied life's work has been centred on children. The NZ novelist Frances Cherry
describes Holloway's first novel, "Secrets & Spies," published in 2007 and aimed at 11 to 12
year olds as a 'crowded, crazy, fun book with everything in it." Does her life follow her art?
Come and find out.

7pm powhiri, 7.45 to 8.15pm drinks and nibbles, 8.15 to 9pm Judith Bryers Holloway
