We have welcomed Rachel as our first writer-in-residence for the year.
Rachel is a filmmaker, writer and artist based in Te Whanganui-ā-Tara, Aotearoa. Their debut book, One Human in Height (Hue & Cry Press), was published in 2013. They are developing several book projects, including a book of fiction. They were selected for the 2017 Aotearoa Short Film Lab and received a 2018 SEED Grant (NZWG/NZFC) to develop a feature film. During their residency they will work on a long short story called ‘This way up’, set in Aotearoa’s first explosives factory.
