Craig is a Wellington-based writer who works as Publishing Manager at Te Herenga Waka University Press and is our 14th writer-in-residence for the year. His short story ‘The Rule of Twelfths’ appeared in Monsters in the Garden: An Anthology of Aotearoa New Zealand Science Fiction and Fantasy, and his MA thesis ‘The Watch List’ won the Adam Foundation Prize in 2014.
During his residency Craig is working to complete a first draft of a historical novel set in interwar Europe. Focused on an exploration of character in plot-driven stories, it is set during true events in the years leading up to WW2. It is a novel about war and its consequences, about finding out who you are and who you love, and about trying to make amends for the unforgivable.
