Whiti has twice held a MKWC Residency, (2012/2017) and joined the Michael King Writers Centre Trust in June 2019.
Kurangaituku is Whiti’s fourth novel and was her 2017 Residency Project. We are enormously proud that in May Whiti won the 2022 Jann Medlicott Acorn Award for fiction in the Ockham New Zealand Book Awards for this work.
