Liz is a writer, editor and performer who has two poem collections, In bed with the feminists, part of which was winner of the Kathleen Grattan Prize for a sequence of poems 2020, and Alzheimer’s and a spoon, one of the NZ Listener’s Top 100 books of 2017. Liz’s poems can also be found in other places including Landfall, Stasis, The Spinoff’s The Friday Poem and Ōrongohau Best New Zealand Poems 2017. In 2022 Liz had a highly commended story in the Sargeson Prize and was first runner up in the Red Hen Press Quill Prose Award, and their stories were shortlisted for the Bridport Prize and longlisted for the Commonwealth Short Story Prize in 2021. Liz has had residencies in Krakow UNESCO City of Literature, Poland (2019) and (virtually) at the National Centre for Writing, Norwich, UK, (2021) and collaborated with Dunedin UNESCO City of Literature in 2020 on The Possibilities Project.
