Madison is a Wellington-based editor and works for the Air Force. Her hobbies include painting and chronically reinventing herself. She holds a Master of Creative Writing from the International Institute of Modern Letters and is the author of the Ockham award winning essay collection Specimen, published by Victoria University Press in 2020, which examines the horrors of puberty in South Dunedin.
She’s using this residency to work at her first foray into novel writing, with a time-traveling horror fantasy about a plague of giant man-eating naked mole rats, which she describes as ‘the logical next step’ from her essay collection. You can find her previous work at www.madisonhamill.co.nz
