Melinda is a Tāmaki Makaurau/Auckland based, award-winning author of stories for young people including picture books, short fiction and novels. She also writes poetry for adults and children.
Melinda regularly visits in schools, and teaches creative writing workshops for adults and children. She was the 2014 University of Otago, College of Education Creative New Zealand Children’s Writer in Residence, and a judge for the 2016 New Zealand Book Awards for Children and Young Adults.
