WIN A WEEK AT THE MICHAEL KING WRITERS CENTRE AND A ONE-ON-ONE CRAFT SESSION WITH PAULA MORRIS

Writers attending the National Writers Forum in September can enter to win a package of two valuable prizes offered by the Michael King Writers Centre, Aotearoa New Zealand’s national writers’ facility and literary centre.

The two prizes are a week’s accommodation at the centre; and a one-on-one craft workshop with the award-winning writer Paula Morris, Associate Professor at the University of Auckland, convenor of its Master in Creative Writing programme, and a trustee of the Michael King Writers Centre.

The National Writers Forum, organised by the New Zealand Society of Authors, will be held at the University of Auckland on 21-23 September 2018. Over two and a half days, across seminars, masterclasses and panels, writers will talk, learn and share information about the craft of writing, the business of writing and the world of words. Attendees who register their details at the Michael King Writers Centre stand will enter the draw for both these prizes.

The Michael King Writers Centre supports New Zealand writers and promotes the development of high-quality New Zealand writing. The centre, based in the historic Signalman’s House on the slopes of Takarunga Mt Victoria in Devonport, Auckland, offers writers a retreat to focus on their writing projects.

The accommodation provides a bedroom with private ensuite bathroom, a writing desk, and linen is supplied. The kitchen, lounge and laundry facilities are shared with the writer-in-residence. There are only two writers in the house at a time.
