Anna has written several books of poetry, most recently Pasture and Flock: New and Selected Poems, and also writes occasional fiction and academic books. She lives in Wellington and lectures at Te Herenga Waka/Victoria University of Wellington.
Anna’s residency project is a novella, a sequel of sorts to The Bedmaking Competition, a short novel published in 2018 and republished in 2020 in a revised edition, completed on a Michael King Residency in 2017. It won the Seizure Press Viva La Novella competition in 2018, and the Mascara Literary Review award for Fiction in 2019. This book picks up the story ten years after the last novella ended.
