Our second writer-in-residence for the year Emma (Kāi Tahu), is a Taranaki based writer whose work has previously appeared in Sport, Newsroom, Hue and Cry, Takahe, Ika 4, Ora Nui and Turbine.

In 2013 she completed an MA with Distinction at the IIML. In 2020 she was awarded third place in the RH Morrieson open section for fiction. Emma is currently working on a collection of short stories largely about women and their experiences, mapping the characters through their relationships, grief and retribution.
