The Business of Writing—Making a Living Through Words
Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th November 2017
National Library, Parnell, Auckland
UPDATE
It’s a wrap! The sold-out New Zealand Annual Writers Weekend was held at Parnell’s National Library over the weekend of 4-5 November. We hosted 50 delegates, and 20 of New Zealand’s top writers and publishers as speakers, for an inspiring weekend on ‘The Business of Writing – Making a Living Through Words’. Highlights included Ashleigh Young’s keynote speech “On Working, Writing, Doubting, and Why Haven’t You Finished Writing That Thing?” (reproduced here with Ashleigh’s permission); social media with Jef Kay from Easy Social Media; the Publishers Lunch; the traditional and non-traditional publishing panels; and a moving performance by Courtney Sina Meredith.
The Michael King Writers’ Centre is grateful for the support of Foundation North.
