The author of short-story collection The Heart Sutra (University of Otago Press, 2003), and of assorted journalism, fiction and book reviews, she is currently at work on a series of oral-history interviews capturing the stories of sex workers and documenting the New Zealand sex industry. She is also an editor at Te Ara – the Encyclopedia of New Zealand (www.teara.govt.nz).

“I spent a week at the Michael King Writers’ Centre in June 2011 in order to do some interviewing in Aucklandfor my oral history project. I was very grateful for the comfortable, well-priced accommodation, as well as the tranquillity, the great views, and the stimulating company and conversation provided by the centre’s staff and assorted visitors, and by then writer-in-residence Ben Brown.”
