We have welcomed Sue as our fourth writer-in-residence for the year and is working on a new novel – she has a masters in creative writing with first-class honours from the University of Auckland. Sue is a novelist, short story writer and poet, as well as a reviewer, editor, manuscript assessor, speechwriter and copywriter. Three of her novels have been published internationally: L’amore Secondo Miranda, Four Ways to be a Woman, and The Visitation, which was shortlisted in the (former) Montana NZ Book Awards. A short story collection, Modettes and other stories, was published locally by Penguin Books. Her short stories and poetry have been widely anthologised. She is a former Buddle Findlay Sargeson Fellow and she has appeared in three international literary festivals. Sue has been a BNZ Katherine Mansfield Short Story Award winner and a runner-up in the Sunday Star-Times Short Story Competition.
